How the App Works
Online Now monitors your device's network connectivity status using Apple's built-in Network framework. This includes:
- Connection Status: Whether your device is connected to the internet
- Connection Type: WiFi, Cellular, or Ethernet
- VPN Status: Whether a VPN tunnel is active
- Network Quality: Latency and speed measurements
All this information is processed and displayed locally on your device only. Nothing is transmitted to any server.
Local Data Storage
The App stores your connection history locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data:
- Never leaves your device
- Is not accessible to us or any third party
- Can be deleted at any time through the app or by deleting the app
- Is not backed up to iCloud (app data only)
Third-Party Services
Online Now does NOT use any third-party services for:
- Analytics or crash reporting
- Advertising or marketing
- Social media integration
- Any form of data collection or tracking
Network Requests
The App may make the following network requests for functionality purposes only:
- Reachability Check: A small request to verify internet connectivity (e.g., to detect captive portals)
- Speed Test: Download test data to measure connection speed (only when you initiate a speed test)
These requests do not transmit any personal or device information.
Children's Privacy
Our App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The App is safe for use by people of all ages.
